Participation at the International Conference MIPRO 2025

From June 2 to 6, 2025, the 48th International Convention MIPRO 2025 was held in Opatija. MIPRO is one of the leading regional scientific and professional conferences in the fields of information and communication technologies, electrical engineering, and education. The conference annually gathers over a thousand participants from more than thirty countries. This year, members of the DIRECTORS project team, Ivana Bosnić and Ana Kuveždić Divjak, participated in the event and presented two papers developed within the Erasmus+ project DIRECTORS (DIgital data-dRiven EduCaTion fOR kidS).

Ivana Bosnić presented a paper in the EE – Engineering Education, titled:

Bosnić, I., Kuveždić Divjak, A., Welle Donker, F., & van Loenen, B.:
Integrating Engineering Principles in Data Literacy Workshops for Primary Education.
This paper analyzes how engineering principles—including data collection, processing, analysis, and visualization—were integrated into all stages of data literacy workshops for pupils aged 8 to 10. It emphasizes the importance of so-called “hidden” engineering education, adapted to the children’s age group, and presents pupil feedback along with suggestions for improving future iterations of the workshops.

Ana Kuveždić Divjak predstavila je rad u sklopu sekcije CE – Computers in Education, titled:

Kuveždić Divjak, A., Welle Donker, F., Bosnić, I., & van Loenen, B.:
Promoting Digital Data Literacy in Primary Education: First Lessons from the DIRECTORS Project.
This paper describes three two-hour workshops conducted in 2024 at primary schools in Zagreb and Delft, aimed at developing basic digital and data skills through working with data from the pupils’ local environments. It presents the concepts, evaluation, and implementation experiences, along with recommendations for further development, increased teacher involvement, and technical improvements in delivery.

Participation at MIPRO 2025 enabled the DIRECTORS team members to disseminate project results to a wider international audience and to establish new connections in the field of educational technologies and STEM education.
